Inter have officially announced that full-back Danilo D’Ambrosio has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2021. While reports are that Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio is ready to sign a new two-year contract extension with the club.
D’Ambrosio has been terrific this season. He has been the best right-back in Serie A this season according to whoscored.com, and Inter’s fourth best player.
His form has changed Inter’s approach to the summer transfer market, and there appears to no longer be a need to go oit and sign a right back like Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian.
As for Ausilio, his contract renewal is not a surprise. When Suning took over they played the waiting game with Ausilio, to see if he was the man to entrust with bog transfer budgets. But he he did a good job in the summer transfer window and then was able to land Atalanta midfielder Roberto Gagliardini in January, and now Suning are ready to reward him with a new two-year deal.
After working as head of the youth sector with the Nerazzurri, Ausilio was promoted to sporting director in 2010, a position he has held ever since.
What do you think of the contract extensions? Good moves by Inter?
