Here are some of Claudio Ranieri’s comments after tonight’s 1-1 draw with Trabzonspor meant that Inter will qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League as group winners.

“We mustn’t forget that by losing to Trabzonspor in the first match we started the campaign on zero points… We started off with a handicap and finished on top. I’m pleased. The lads played well and put in a great effort to win the match. It was a strange game because we already knew we had qualified before the kick-off, but the team’s attitude was positive and they did what they had to. It is never easy to win a point here. And I have to congratulate the lads again on this because they really deserved to qualify here, especially if you consider it was an away game. I’ll say it again, I’m happy: it was a good match. A draw was a fair result and I’m pleased with the performance of the team.”
