Inter Milan left it late to beat Chievo with two goals in the last three minutes earning them a 2-0 win at the Stadio Bentegodi.
Chievo had frustrated Inter throughout, but just when it looked like they had done enough to earn a point, Walter Samuel headed Inter in front.
Diego Milito, who missed a penalty in the 14th minute, sealed the win in stoppage time to lift some of the pressure from Inter coach Claudio Ranieri and give the Nerazzurri a boost ahead of the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie with Marseille next week.

These were the statements from Diego Forlan to Inter Channel at the end of the match.
“At first we started well but then they scored at the first opportunity and it changed everything. But then everything changed again, with pride and fighting spirit. Now I feel good, in condition and I’m available to play in any role that can serve the team,” added the striker. “I’m satisfied for the goal but I hope to score another one that will be useful for a victory,” said El Cacha.
He then looked ahead:

“It’s a point to get us going again,” said Diego Milito, the man who netted Inter‘s second goal to level the scores. “I’m confident that this is where we take off again. We were poor in the first half and they scored with their first chance. Then after the break we threw everything at them and showed how determined this team is to change the situation.”
The striker spoke about the side’s reaction, which came to life at half time: “We looked each other in the eyes and said that we had simply to turn the result around, also for the fans who have always supported us.”

Too bad pieces of news for Claudio Ranieri today. One was the news that Chelsea had fired former Inter assistant coach Andre Villas-Boas today. Inter President Massimo Moratti has gone on record as saying he is a big fan of the young coach and I have no doubt that he will be managing Inter next season.
The piece of bad news for Raneri was that Inter could not beat Catania today at home, having to come from two goals down to salvage a draw. Yes the draw ended Inter’s four game losing streak, and the two goals ended a month long scoring drought. But it was Ranieri’s management of the side today left so many questions.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, Claudio Ranieri analysed Inter‘s defeat this evening at the Stadio San Paolo; the fourth consecutive KO that leaves the Nerazzurri in seventh place in the standings and therefore far away from third place.
“We knew that Napoli were on a high after the victory over Chelsea, and that they would come at us. They played well and we let in a goal on the break from a lost ball in midfield. After they went up there were seven minutes in which Napoli were very lively, then we got charged up again but we couldn’t do it.”

Another Inter game, another defeat and another shutout. The pressure continues to mount on Claudio Ranieri but he cannot take the chances that the Inter forward are missing.
With only a couple of minutes left in the game, and Napoli playing with 10-men, Nagatomo played in a terrific cross and Pazzini, who was unmarked and six yards from goal, somehow managed to head the ball wide. A horrible miss and a chance that you know that Samuel Eto’o would have buried. But without him, Inter are toothless in attack and it is really difficult to win games is you cannot score!

“It was a shock,” were ClaudioRanieri‘s opening words at the end of the match between Olympique Marseille and Inter. “The match seemed to be heading for a 0-0. They had only really looked dangerous at the start of the match; after that we were largely in control, we kept hold of the ball, we moved it around well. And then… But this team deserves to complete the comeback in a full Stadio Meazza, with the crowd putting the wind in our sails,” declared the coach, calling the Nerazzurri faithful to get behind the side.

nter Milan carried their poor league form into the Champions League as the Italian outfit were defeated by Marseille with a late goal from Andrew Ayew at Vellodrome.
The result was obviously disappointing for the Nerazzurri who were actually very close in earning a pretty precious point if not for defensive mistake right at the dead which allowed the home team to knick a goal.
Coming into the game carrying consecutive defeats in Serie A, Claudio Ranieri, opted a rather cautious approach to the game by fielding a single striker formation supported by an attacking midfielder in a 4-4-1-1 formation. Moreover, the tactician also picked experienced players to handle the pressure as Inter reportedly fielded an averagely the oldest side in this year’s Champions League, with 32 years old in total.

Claudio Ranieri was looking for no excuses as he commented on Inter‘s defeat against Bologna to Sky Sport Italia. But he was not making much sense either as his comment about Wesley Sneijder shows:
“What’s happening? We can see what’s happening: we’re not doing what we’re capable of doing. It’s one of those moments, we just have to accept our responsibility and apologise to the president and our fans, who were behind us until we went 2-0 down and then understandably they started protesting after the third. For a few games now the opposition have hurt us with their first chance, today we got hit twice in two minutes. We must stand together at the moment. I said yesterday that we are playing with a 10-kilo weight at the moment. I expected a tough game tonight but not like that.”

An absolutely shockingly bad performance by Inter today as they lost 3-0 at home to Bologna. Inter have now lost four of their last five Serie A games and that third Champions League place looks like a distant hope now.
Sometimes teams play poorly, and I understand that, but what worried me tonight was how confused and out of sorts Inter looked. There was no rhythm to their attack, no coordination between midfield and attack. How many times did we see a striker make a run in one direction only for the ball to be played somewhere else? It was as if they had never played together before.
