According to reports out of Columbia, midfielder Freddy Guarin is on the verge of joining Inter Milan
Guarin, 25, who currently plays in Portugal with Porto, will initially sign on loan, with a view to a permanent transfer in the summer, in a deal which could exceed $16 million.
The midfielder had been expected to join Inter‘s rivals Juventus, but it looks like Inter have hijacked that move at the last minute and Guarin will be heading to Inter instead.
Guarin will be the second Colombian at Inter, joining defender Ivan Cordoba. He has previously played for Saint-Etienne in France, Boca Juniors in Argentina, and Envigado in Colombia.

All the good feelings from the Milan derby win have vanished after Inter Milan were beaten at relegation-threatened Lecce.
Guillermo Giacomazzi scored for Lecce five minutes before half-time and Inter, despite having two goals disallowed, could not find a response, leaving them nine points behind leaders Juventus, who beat Udinese on Saturday.
It was Inter’s second poor performance of the week after they were knocked out of the Coppa Italia by Napoli on Wednesday.
But they had plenty of chances to take the lead in the first half, Diego Milito firing wide from inside the box after 10 minutes, before Wesley Sneijder brought a good save out of Massimiliano Benassi with a strike from distance moments later.

Here are some more comments from Claudio Ranieri’s press conference ahead of Sunday’s match against Lecce:
“We must go there expecting a tough game. Cosmi has instilled grit and determination into a team that are trying to haul themselves out of the relegation quagmire. Di Michele has scored as much as Milito recently and they’ll have Muriel too – a player who scored against us at the Meazza – and Cuadrado, who has real pace. We must be very careful, we’ll be playing on a heavy pitch and we’ll have to produce a top performance if we want to win.”

Good news, bad news here on the Carlos Tevez transfer saga. The bad news is that he is not joining Inter. The good news is that he is not joining AC Milan.
Tevez’s advisor, Kia Joorabchian is quoted in the English newspapers as saying:
“We’ve been in negotiations with three big clubs but I don’t think they have reached the figures Manchester City want. Carlos will remain at Man City until the summer. They [City] would like to move him on but only at a certain price.”
Joorabchian was interviewed earlier today on TalkSport and went on to say:
