Another sign that the future of Inter is very bright is that Inter’s U-19s are through to the NextGen semi-finals after beating a very good Sporting Lisbon 1-0 in Portugal. It is the first home defeat for Sporting all season.
The NextGen Series is an international tournament involving sixteen of the world’s best football clubs, including Barcelona, Manchester City, Sporting Lisbon and Liverpool and brings together some of the best talent in Europe in a Champions League style format.
Inter has finished second in their group, which meant that they had to travel to Portugal to take on a Sporting Lisbon side that was unbeaten in the competition.

Claudio Ranieri believes that Inter should have been awarded a penalty in their 2-0 defeat by Napoli at the Stadio San Paolo on Wednesday night.
The Nerazzurri fell behind five minutes into the second half of a spirited Coppa Italia quarter-final clash when Edinson Cavani fired home from 12 yards out, after being upended in the box by Thiago Motta.
Ranieri had no problem with the Uruguayan being awarded the penalty, but he felt that Inter should also have been awarded a spot kick when Diego Milito went down after tangling with Christian Maggio in the area before Cavani sealed victory for the hosts with his injury-time strike.

Diego Milito has voiced his frustration with the referee’s decision not to award him a spot kick in Wednesday’s 2-0 Coppa Italia quarter-final loss away against Napoli.
The Argentine attacker went to the ground inside the area in the 58th minute after a challenge from Napoli’s Christian Maggio, but ref Domenico Celi felt the action did not warrant a penalty, much to the dismay of Milito.
“I knew immediately that it was a definite penalty because I was clearly ahead of my opponent, and because I don’t go to the ground for no reason. I don’t dive,” Milito was quoted as saying on the Inter website.

Inter‘s seven game winning streak came to an end last night against Napoli as they lost 2-0 in their Coppa Italia quarter-final match.
This was a game of two penalties. One that was given, and one that was not.
Napoli went ahead in the 50th minute when Thiago Motta, in possible his last appearance in an Inter shirt, failed to control the ball and then fouled Cavani in his attempt to win it back.
Then seven minutes later the referee inexplicably failed to give Inter a penalty when Maggio clearly held back Milito as he was sent in on goal. A horrible missed call from the referee.

Inter have pulled out of the Carlos Tevez sweepstakes, seemingly paving the way for Tevez to go to AC Milan.
It seems that the return to form of Diego Milito has made Inter less desperate to add a big spending striker this month as Inter board member Marco Tronchetti Provera announced:
“Now we’re no longer interested in Tevez. He is following a different path. Inter have recovered their champions and there is no need to have him or another, even if Tevez remains a great champion.”
What do you think of Inter’s decision?

Inter keep marching up the table thanks to a 2-1 win over Lazio – their eighth in a row – in this evening’s 2011/12 Serie A Week 19 clash at the Meazza.
Rocchi struck the post before giving the visitors the lead in the first half but Milito was bang on form again, showing fantastic movement in the build-up and a fine finish to spark Inter’s comeback, completed with Pazzini’s lob over Marchetti.
FIRST HALF
With Thiago Motta suspended, Ranieri played Zanetti and Cambiasso in central midfield with Nagatomo on the right and Alvarez left. Pazzini and Milito formed the front pairing once again. For Lazio, Rocchi got the nod over Cissé to partner Klose in attack.

Inter Milan defender Lucio has been saying that he hopes that Inter can clinch a deal for Sao Paulo star Lucas.
“I know Lucas very well and Inter ought to run to sign him straight away,” Lucio told the Corriere dello Sport. “He is a wide attacker with a great deal of quality, all combined with exceptional pace. He always works hard in training and is a humble lad. I remember during the Copa America training he’d often face Dani Alves during games between ranks and it was always a fiery battle. I think Lucas is better suited to Italian and European football than Neymar.”

Inter Milan sporting director, Marco Branca, has revealed that the Nerazzurri still want to sign Manchester City striker, Carlos Tevez.
Inter’s offer of 25 million Euros for the City striker was deemed not good enough by the English outfit.
Branca insisted that he is assessing different possibilities of signing the former Manchester United star, and will come up with an improved offer in the next few days. He has urged Tevez and his representative to wait for the Nerazzurri offer before talking to other interested parties.
The director was recently talking to RMC Sport where he revealed that the Nerazzurri are still interested in Tevez.

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti is hoping the club can fend off interest from Paris Saint Germain and retain Thiago Motta.
The big-spending Ligue 1 club have been heavily linked with the Brazil-born Italy international, who is contracted to Inter until the summer of 2013.
Motta’s agent has previously stated his client would see out his deal at Giuseppe Meazza, but that has failed to quell the speculation.
“Thiago Motta? He’s one of our most important players,” said Moratti. “This makes him non-transferable. We hope he won’t leave.”
The big question Mr. President is whether Motta is important enough to get a new contract?
