D-DAY!

If you are like me then your are very nervous about tonight’s fixture. This is the game that could determine who wins the scudetto. Just in case you do not know, Inter host rivals AC Milan at the San Siro in a match that will be a must win for both sides. Inter come into this match after a string of poor performances while their city rivals Milan are enjoying a good winning streak.

If their current form is anything to go by then there is nothing to separate these two teams. However, a dip into the past and Inter fans may have a little something to worry about. Scouring the web for some up to date news on tonight’s derby game, i came across some very interesting findings.

Now i know that Inter has dominated the Serie A for the last couple of seasons but Milan have been the more successful of the two sides thats a fact. Inter last won Milan in August 2009 beating the rossoneri 4-0 in a complete whitewash of Leonardo’s boys.

However, Milan in the past decade have always gotten the better of Inter. Inter’s embarrassing 6-0 loss to Milan in May 2001 is the worst defeat for the Nerazzurri against Milan. Tonight though, Inter will look to repeat their 4-0 thrashing of Milan and cool Milan’s momentum when the two clash in the famous derby della madonnia.

Inter have a strong line up for the match with Mourinho expected to play to play Sneijder, Balotelli and Milito in attack. This an indicator of just how serious Mourinho takes this fixture.Milan on the other hand will have Ronaldinho, Borriello and Beckham leading their assault.

The flip side might very well be a draw which i must say will only add more anxiety to the already tense title race. That said this will be a very hard match to call because both teams have what it takes to win it.

I feel that Inter could win if Sneijder can stay fit. Having said that, a draw would be a good result for Inter.

Mou have not lost a single home game in domestic league since Feb 2002. Finger crossed that this record will not be broken today.
