Good News Ahead Of Moscow Tie

by Philip Mboya on March 30, 2010

I am sure that Inter‘s run in the league these past few weeks may have left many skeptical about their chances of defending their scudetto title. With Roma and Milan in eye shot view of the title that has eluded them for years, Inter Milan definitely need some good news ahead of their Champions League fixture against CSKA Moscow. Davide Santon who has been out for most part of the season might be available for this crucial tie.

7 games is what separates Inter from a record breaking 5th successive scudetto. They will surely need the youth and agility of  the Italy international in their remaining fixtures.

Santon has made only 11 appearances for the Nerazzurri this season and after his doctors ruled  out an immediate operation on his knee, Santon may very well have received a life line. The Inter full back may now feature for Inter in their up coming Champions League fixture.

Santon had undergone an earlier operation in November but the problem still seems to persist. His doctors with the help of independent specialists have decided that the youngster does not have to undergo another operation immediately. That gives Mourinho hope ahead of this crucial fixture which i expect them to win by a huge margin.

I have said it before and i won’t hesitate to say it again. Of all the teams left in the Champions League, Inter are definitely favourites to win the tournament. Tomorrow’s tie at the San Siro is not a case of who will win but rather one of by what score margin.

I predict 2:0 in Milan and a very difficult game in Moscow. There might be no comfortable aggregate lead until last minutes of the 2nd game.
Do not take CSKA lightly, they are a very good team and definitely capable to beat Inter. We need to realize moments today and not allow a goal. 1:1 is also possible, and 2:1 as well. I would be surprised if Inter would score more than 2 today. Of course, pleasantly surprised.
