Hold Your Horses Jose!

Jose Mourinho’s Inter Milan seem to be unstoppable in the Serie A leaving a trail of destruction everywhere they go. Their 2-0 win at relegation threatened Livorno on Sunday was enough to extend their lead over Juventus by seven points.

Mourinho will however be looking to repeat his performances with Inter in the Champions League on match day 4 as they travel to Ukraine for the decisive return fixture. After drawing 2-2 with Dynamo Kiev 2 weeks ago in the San Siro, Mourinho is already aware of what the Ukrainians are capable.

Over confidence should be avoided at all costs. To say Inter’s form in the champions leagues is bad would be an understatement. Its simply terrible. They have now gone a year without a victory and they have only had just one victory in their last six Uefa Champions League away matches. This according to their standards is way below them.

In Dynamo we have a player (shevchenko) who has twice played a vital role in knocking Inter out of this lucrative tournament. Sheva knows Inter very well as he used to once upon a time appear for their arch rivals AC Milan. In the 2002/2003 season, he scored the all important away goal against Inter to knock them out of the semis. Milan later went on to win the trophy by beating Juve in the final.

Shevchenko will be determined to see his side perform extremely well and ensure they progress to the knock out round. Dynamo will also be looking to erase their painful 4-1 home defeat that came from their last Italian visitors Roma in the 2007/2008 season. That said, i am convinced that Inter will prevail if their current form is anything to go by.
