It seems like things are getting better and better for Jose Mourinho in the Serie A. Inter Milan moved four points clear at the top of the league after beating Palermo 5-3 in an exciting thriller on Thursday night.
Palermo coach and former Inter old boy Walter Zenga had made his intentions clear before the start of the game that his side would do all they could to bag the three points. However, that was all talk as Inter run riot in the first half scoring four goals their last two coming in the span of of 60 seconds.
The Sicilian’s nightmare begun in the 7th minute when Mario Balotelli was brought down in the area and Samuel Eto’o stepped up to take the decisive penalty. Balotelli however wanted to do the honours but captain Zanetti pulled him back. This did not go down well with the Italy U-21 and he threw a small tantrum.
Balotelli made up for his action by scoring Inter’s second in the 34th minute and 8 minutes later, he scored another. At this point, Inter were in cruise mode and Eto’o put the game out of Palermo’s reach when he added Inter’s fourth and his second of the night 60 seconds later.
Zenga must have given his side something special because immediately after the re-start, Fabrizzio Miccoli pulled a goal back for Palermo in the 49th minute. In the 62nd minute, Abel Hernandez added Palermo’s second and just 5 minutes later Miccolli netted his second goal of the night to reduce the deficit to 1 goal.
Argentine striker Diego Milito however calmed Inter’s nerves when he scored their 5th goal with just 7 minutes left on the clock. This victory has given them a boost in their title defense although Juventus are still hot on their heels.
Something of note however, (i really need to get this off my chest) Balotelli should learn to control his temper. He is a good player and it would not hurt if he learnt to smile more often.

Balotelli is a talented kid, but his temperance is suspected. W/o discipline, he can get into a lot of trouble and affect the team. But I believe tat Mourinho will mould him into a star whom he will surely become.
