According to reports out of Columbia, midfielder Freddy Guarin is on the verge of joining Inter Milan
Guarin, 25, who currently plays in Portugal with Porto, will initially sign on loan, with a view to a permanent transfer in the summer, in a deal which could exceed $16 million.
The midfielder had been expected to join Inter‘s rivals Juventus, but it looks like Inter have hijacked that move at the last minute and Guarin will be heading to Inter instead.
Guarin will be the second Colombian at Inter, joining defender Ivan Cordoba. He has previously played for Saint-Etienne in France, Boca Juniors in Argentina, and Envigado in Colombia.
Guarin was originally a holding midfield player at Porto, but last season under Andre Villas-Boas he became a box-to-box midfielder, who likes to play close to the strikers in the opposing area. It was in this play that he really developed into a star. One problem though is that is Sneijder’s best position, and this move reinforces my belief that Sneijder will be sold this summer. Guarin is his replacement.
What do you think of Fredy Guarin?

He’ll probably come off the bench for Ricky or Sneijder if Ranieri plays the 4-2-2-2. Nobody can replace Sneijder and Inter would be better off investing their money in a player like Lucas who could become a player like Sneijder and be Sneijder’s replacement.
this Guy is very good he will i beleive stable our midfield he plays one touch hold the ball dribbles his long pass superb great shooter that what inter needed for last year his like schwinstiger i think best signing from 2yrs.
