Inter Milan vs Bologna Preview

by Philip Mboya on April 2, 2010

After annoying fans with his recent remarks, Jose Mourinho leads his boys in what is expected to be another relatively easy fixture against Bologna tomorrow at the San Siro. Never the one to please people, Mourinho ended his self imposed three-week media silence when he spoke about his side’s ambitions in Wednesday’s Champions league quarter final tie against CSKA Moscow.

Inter will now have to transfer their Champions League form back to the league. The title race is once again a very open affair after Inter lost 2-1 to Roma last weekend to remain just a point above them in the Serie A table. Arch Rivals Milan are not to far behind in 3rd place.

Inter welcome Bologna to the San Siro a stadium that has served them well this season. Beating Inter at home is a very hard task and it gets even harder if you are struggling to stay afloat in the League. Bologna are in 15th place in the league with 35 points (28 points behind inter) and no one expects them to get a result from tomorrow’s fixture.

Tomorrow’s match kick-off at 1500hrs CET. Inter Milan have played 31 matches where they have won 18, drawn 9 times and lost only 4 times, this definitely puts the odds against Bologna. Another amazing statistic is the difference in the number of goals that Inter have scored and conceded. The Nerazzurri have scored 58 goals and conceded 28, while Bologna have conceded more goals than they have scored- scoring only 34 times and conceding a massive 44 goals.

My prediction for this match is a 3-0 win in favour of Inter.
