Inter PreSeason Plans

Jose-Mourinho1_1917010The 2009-2010 season is right around the corner and Inter Milan today announced their preseason schedule.

Pre-season training for the squad begins on Friday 10 July 2009, although I expect those players who took part on the Confederations Cup to report back a little later, probably around the 13th when the team heads to Los Angeles.

After arriving in the U.S., the team will go through three days of double training sessions at UCLA, before playing their first exhibition against a local LA team on Thursday 16 July. There will be two more days of training on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 July before Inter’s first match of the World Football Challenge against Club America in Palo Alto (19 July at 16:00).

Inter’s participation in the six-city round robin tournament continues on Tuesday 21 July with a match against Chelsea in Pasadena (kick-off 20:00) and ends with the first Milan derby of the season in Foxborough on Sunday 26 July (kick-off 17:00) after four more days of training (6 sessions in all) in Boston.

After returning to Italy, the Nerazzurri will train in Appiano Gentile on Wednesday 29 July before leaving for the Principality of Monaco, where Mourinho’s players take on Monaco in the Pirelli-Sky Trophy. There will be another training session in Appiano Gentile on 31 July, after which the squad will have two days off before leaving for Beijing in China, where the Nerazzurri will prepare for the Italian Super Cup match against Lazio on Saturday 8 August.

On their return to Italy, Inter will continue pre-season preparations in Appiano Gentile ahead of the first round of the 2009/10 Serie A championship, scheduled for the weekend of 22-23 August.

We Inter Milan tickets for most of the pre-season games so check out our tickets page if you are interested in catching a game. I will be at the Milan derby in Boston on the 26th.
