Inter Milan face a relatively easy fixture against Livorno tomorrow night that should keep their lead a top the Serie A table secure at least until the weekend. Considering the fact that their arch rivals Milan play Parma on the same night, the Nerazzurri have a better chance to consolidate their lead as they will be hosting the leagues bottom side.
Inter will however be without their top scorer Diego Milito who is said to have injured himself during their training session earlier in the day. The news just keeps getting worse as Mourinho will also be without play maker Wesley Sneijder who has muscle fatigue and Dejan Stankovic who is suspended.
Mario Balotelli is a definite-doubt if there is anything like that, after he pulled off one of the silliest pranks ever. The Italy U-21 apparently wore a Milan shirt on Canale 5 comedy show ‘Striscia La Notizia’ last night a huge no no if you ask me.
Balotelli has not played for Inter since March 7th and after last night’s antics, i won’t be shocked if he does not feature for the Nerazzurri for the rest of the season. This is not good news for Mourinho ahead of this fixture. We cannot deny the fact that Mario is an exceptional talent, however, we cannot also excuse his actions on the basis of his age. Its pretty simple he can either leave Inter or be benched without pay for the remainder of the season. Maybe that will knock some sense into his head.
Balotelli’s agent was however quick to explain Mario’s actions as only being a prank. ” It all stemmed from a prank,” Mino Raiola said. ” They don’t understand that they are making a big deal out of this when its not the case. I am very disappointed with standard of Striscia La Notizia”.
That said, i expect Inter to still beat Livorno. In fact i see a 3-0 victory margin. Samuel Eto’o and Goran Pandev will have to make the best of the opportunities they have.
