Inter struggle against FC Dallas

Inter Milan became the latest big European team to find out that Major League Soccer opponents are not as easy as they once were.

Inter drew 2-2 with FC Dallas on Thursday on a very warm and humid night in Texas.

Inter started the game well as Diego Milito scored with a good header from a Maicon cross after 25 minutes. Then Philippe Coutinho forced a really save from the Dallas goalkeeper and then Samuel Eto’o hit the post.

It seemed a matter of when, and not if, Inter would score a second goal. But then three minutes before half-time Dallas equalized when George John headed in a cross past Castellazzi.

In the second half Inter continued to create chances and it was not a surprise when, in the 64th minute, Eto’o showed his class in creating space and scored from 25 yards out.

But FC Dallas got back onto level terms 10 minutes later, with what could only be called a generous penalty.

So Inter finishes up its North America with a win, loss and draw. They now head back to Italy to get ready for the Italian Super Cup and UEFA Super Cup games.
