Inter’s Summer Bid For Messi Failed

by Philip Mboya on November 13, 2009

Yes it is true that Inter Milan made an attempt to buy Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi in the summer however they were not successful. According to Barcelona club president Joan Laporta, the Nerrazurri were keen on acquiring the services of the Uefa champions league winner.

If  Inter are still seriously thinking about buying Messi then they should be ready to fork out around 250 million Euros. This being Messi’s buy out clause in his new improved contact. If not then they will have to wait until 2016 when his contract runs out – an option am sure Inter would not consider.

However, if Messi were to move to the San Siro i think there would be no reason for any other team to challenge for the scudetto. Messi and Eto’o would again prove just how 70 goals are easy to come by when they play together. Massimo Morratti has however expressed his desire for the 22 year old foward and all Inter fans should not be surprised if  the ‘next Maradona’ is in the starting 11 next season.
