Liverpool and Argentina midfielder Javier Mascherano indicated that a move to Italy is in his future saying:
“I’m learning Italian while I’m here in South Africa. I don’t know what I will do after the tournament. We shall see.”
Mascherano is a favorite of Rafa Benitez and reports say that Inter will offer Liverpool £25million for the defensive midfield star.

Why do we need Masch when we have Cambiasso and Motta?
Funny but I was thinking the same thing Mile as I was writing the post. Cambiasso was brilliant last season in that defensive midfielder role
Not only the last season David but he is a player who is consistently performing well so bringing Mascherano (obviously to take his spot) seems like a bad decision indeed. However, we are the ones to judge and let’s see how things will work out. I heard that they are considering Tevez as well… All in all, whatever happens, we are the Champions League winners

Mascherano was always one of my favorite def midfielders it will be good thing to have another good quality Argentine in our team, it will only bring up the competition. I’m positive about this possibility.
Rafa nid Mascherano as his own mascot, just like Mou had his Materazzi.
Esteban is 30 y.o. and that is clearly the main reason for such a move. This is not bad at all. Raffa prefers younger players. Mascherano is 26. Maicon is 29,and Benitez is not trying to prevent Maicon departure at all, even that he knows Douglas is maybe the best full back in the world,he is up for sale though. *Old* player but lot of money. Thats it.
