To say he is a good coach is an understatement. Mourinho is simply in a league of his own when it comes to the technical aspects of football. He is the sort of person who can create a wining team from the least known individuals in the football realm without even breaking sweat.
What has me really worried however, is whether the Portuguese tactician really has his heart set on a long career in the Serie A. I say this because of his recent comments that are making the rounds in the media. Mourinho has again made it clear that he would like to return to England at some point and may be even finish his career in ‘Her Majesty’s kingdom’.
I hate to be the one to have to deliver the bad news, but club president Massimo Morratti should start looking for a replacement pronto because Jose is not planning on staying with the Nerazzurri for long. It would be okay if this was a once-off-the-cuff type of comment but to repeatedly say this while working for a different employer in a different country speaks volumes.
Reports are rife linking the Portuguese with a possible succession to his once former foe Sir Alex Ferguson when the Scottsman finally retires. This, i guess must be hard for all inter fans to take in, but nonetheless the sooner it is prepared for the better it will be for all the parties concerned.
” I love inter and would love to build for the future here. In fact i am doing it now because i am not a selfish coach and am thinking about the future in terms of youth development and the age structure of my first team – but Italy is not the country for this. England is the country. And my football is English football.”
Well that is as candid as it can get. I only hope that the Nerazzurri have heeded the early danger signs and are out looking for a coach who can replace Mourinho.
