This must be the week of Manchester United rumors. First it was Maicon and now it is Julio Cesar.
This rumor is not a surprise. Julio Cesar is one of the world’s best goalkeepers and United are looking to replace the ageing Edwin van der Sar.
According to Julio Cesar’s agent, United are interested in the Inter number one, but Josias Cardoso is confident of putting an end to speculation shortly by agreeing a new deal with the Serie A club.
“United showed their interest for Julio but until now have not made an official offer,” he said. “At the moment we are talking with Inter to renew Julio’s contract, but we have not yet arrived at an agreement. “I hope to succeed before the end of the month, that’s my aim.”
Julio Cesar’s wife, Susana Werner, claimed on Tuesday he was being courted by one of the European greats.
“It’s been a week of great emotions,” she wrote on her blog. “My son celebrated his seventh birthday, while my husband was besieged by offers from a big club and that has made us happy. We don’t intend to leave Milan but anything can happen in football.”
It is good to know that Inter are already working on a contract extension for Cesar. Cesar is still young for a goalkeeper (he is 30) so tying him up until for another 4-5 years is a good move by Inter technical director Marco Branca
