Maicon Wants To Stay At Inter

Maicon is happy at Inter and has no problem staying at the club, according to his agent.

The 28-year-old Brazilian has been consistently linked with a move to Reak Madrid since former Inter coach Jose Mourinho took charge at the Bernabeu.

The attacking right-back is seen as one of the best in the world, but president Massimo Moratti is rumoured to be looking for a huge sum before deciding to let him leave after a reported offer from Real.

“We expect the president Massimo Moratti to give some indication (to his future), however, as for me and the player, we have no problems whatsoever,” Caliendo told Sky Italia. “We have a contract and Moratti will decide whether to accelerate the negotiation, or invite us to say that the player will officially remain at Inter. The offer from Real Madrid? I think there was one. It seems to me that Mourinho has been very explicit since he arrived in Madrid. Thirty-five million euros? For me, Moratti called it shortly, he could request 60million, the contract is his and then he makes the money.”

Nice words from Maicon’s agent. Yes I want Maicon to stay at Inter, but I also realize that the performance by Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos in the World Cup had something to do with Caliendo’s statement. Ramos was brilliant in the World Cup and I can see no way that Mourinho can replace him. Thus Maicon stays at Inter and his agent is trying to mend any fences that might have got broken over the summer.

Mourinho was quoted as saying he was going to switch Ramos to a centre back!!! Yeah, I know, crazy but that’s where he said he’d like to see him play.
