The Nerazzurri president praised the team as he spoke to Inter Channel after the win over Cagliari:
“Overall I think the side looked good, considering also the pressure they had with our league position: just as we fans feel it, so do the players; at times it can be hard on the pitch psychologically. We played well and I’m particularly pleased with how the three new signings performed, because Coutinho is like a new signing and then there’s Jonathan and Alvarez. Our fans were great too: when you have to win, you have to win, then they calmed down a bit and started to understand.”
Asked what he thought when Wesley Sneider had to pull out with an injury during the warm-up and when Inter struck the bar twice in the first 25 minutes, the president replied with a smile:
“I thought that it would be another tough game and that we’d have to suffer until the last five minutes as usual. That’s the way it’s been for a thousand years and we should have got used to it by now, but whenever you find yourself in that situation you suffer, you really do.”
