This will definitely be hard to take in if your are an Inter fan but the club president Massimo Moratti has refused to but any new strikers in the January transfer window. Moratti who claims that Inter’s squad is fine just the way it is will therefore not finance any deals to acquire Luca Toni or Goran Pandev who were hugely linked with a move to the San Siro.
This news is bound to rub Mourinho the wrong way and it might just be another cause of his unhappiness in Italy. Mourinho has asked for more firing power to bolster his attack when his top striker Samuel Eto’o leaves the club in January to take part in the African Cup of Nations. However, his pleas seem to have fallen on Moratti’s deaf ears.
I think this could be the undoing of Inter. They are currently top of the Serie A but if they fail to acquire new players then it would provide their challengers AC Milan and Juventus with a golden opportunity to take advantage of their problems. I can certainly say that the next half of the season will be a very challenging one for Inter and like i had earlier said this title race is far from being over!
