A nasty injury during the Inter v Brescia match on 6 November last year and a return to the pitch after 190 days: in the 77th minute, Inter and their fans had something to smile about, because Walter Samuel was back in the spotlight at the Stadio San Paolo. The Argentine defender stated to Inter Channel:
“I’m feel good and I’m delighted at having been able to play the last few minutes of this match. I would like to thank the medical staff for the work they did after my injury, my family who has always stood by me, and all the fans.”
“I’ll be back on the pitch before the end of the year.” Samuel had made this promise and can reflect on it: “I was confident; after the operation I had spoken with the doctors, Benazzo and Combi, who are always concerned about avoiding a hasty return to the pitch. But they saw that I would be able to do it. Now I’m very happy.”
