Samuel out until January

by David on December 10, 2009

Inter Milan has announced that they will be without Walter Samuel for the rest of the year after the centre-back sustained a thigh injury during Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League victory over FC Rubin Kazan.

Samuel limped off after only 15 minutes last night and a scan today revealed a hamstring strain that will keep him sidelined until 2010. The Argentinian international has already started his rehabilitation, but will not link up with the squad again until early January.

Inter did get some good news today as Dejan Stankovic’s thigh injury turned out to be a bruise and not a strain and he is expected to be fit for Sunday’s Serie A visit to Atalanta.

“Rest of the year” sounds terribly long. U could use “out for one month or so” instead.

I agree :) My first thought was how a strained thigh can sideline a player for 6 months??? :)

Did not mean to alarm you with the headline:) I changed to reflect that he will be out about a month
