Thiago Motta signs on

We are pleased to announce that Thiago Motta has joined the club on a four-year deal from Genoa.

The Brazilian midfielder, born in São Bernardo do Campo on 28 August 1982, has put pen to paper on a contract which will run until 30 June 2013.

The documents relating to the transfer have been registered at the Italian Football League’s offices.

As part of the deal, Francesco Bolzoni, Leonardo Bonucci and Riccardo Meggiorini joins Genoa on a permanent basis.

More about Motta:
- Although born in Brazil, Motta is also an Italian citizen. Motta’s main traits are physical display and a powerful mid-range shot, and he is also known to be injury-prone. He played about 250 matches for Barcelona, and made his debut for Brazil in the 2003 CONCACAF Gold Cup as part of Brazil U-23 team which was sent to represent Brazil senior team at the Gold Cup. He went on to collect two international caps in the tournament.
