The January transfer window is just around the corner and already the rumour mills are ripe with new signings for most of the big Italian teams. Word has it that Bayern Munich Striker Luca Toni is Inter’s main target for this winter transfer window. Apparently, Toni has fallen out with Bayern coach Luis Van Gaal and he is now considering returning to Italy to pursue his career.
Inter will definitely need his services as their other striker Samuel Eto’o will be heading to Angola for the Africa Cup of Nations. Personally, i have always felt that Luca Toni made the wrong choice in going to Germany. I wonder why he had to cross borders in the first place. He was doing better than okay in Italy.
In the 2005/2006 Serie A season, Toni scored an amazing 31 goals for Fiorentina and he was heralded as the club savior. However, it later emerged that Fiorentina were involved in shameful match fixing scandal. They were subsequently deducted 19 points for the start of the 2006/2007 season and to make matters worse their star player was plagued by injuries for most of the season. This is when the club decided to sell Toni to the German powerhouse.
What Inter fans will be hoping for however is a repeat of his magical first season form with Fiorentina. If Toni joins the Nerazzurri, then you can be assured that Inter will definitely be cruising to another scudetto victory that will match the total that their arch rivals Milan have won the years.
That said, only after the transfer window is shut will we be able to know and judge who bought wisely and who didn’t. January will be a litmus test for the title victory. Who will utilize this opportunity the most?

Toni is 32, which is considered old as a striker. The reason he wanna leave Munich is cuz he dun like sitting on bench. Hope he will like Inter bench better cuz Eto wont be away forever.
Moratti seems to be very straightforward when he says Inter is not going to acquire any new players in January – not Tony, not Pandev, not anyone else. But who knows?
In my opinion, we need at least one more striker who plays (it could be finally Arnautovic for example)…
Have not heard much about Arnautovic, but with Eto’o gone for most of the month Inter will need some help up front
Arnautovic is a goner.
