The FIFA international jinx has hit Inter again as Marcelo Brozovic was forced off during Croatia’s 1-1 draw with Finland last Friday, and tests on Monday brought about unwanted news for Nerazzurri fans.
“Early in the afternoon, the Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic had medical tests at the Istituto Clinico Humanitas in Rozzano after being injured during Croatia vs. Finland last Friday,” read a statement on Inter’s official website.
“The tests revelead damage to his left soleus muscle and the player’s condition will continue to be evaluated in the coming days. ”
According to Gazetta Dello Sport Brozovic will will be out for 2-3 weeks. That will see Brozovic miss not only the Sunday night match against Milan, but also that of October 21 in Napoli and the home match against Sampdoria (24).
He is expected to return on the 30th for the trip to Verona.
The logical move would be for Spalletti to replace Brozovic with Joao Mario. Among other players, Eder is an alternative, Borja Valero could potentially be moved up in the lineup or Candreva could be moved centrally.
