Today Inter travel to the Stadio San Paolo to face in-form Napoli in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals.
Inter come into this game on the back of a disappointing run of form to start 2016, as the sides inability to score is really impacting the Nerazzurri’s title hopes.
Inter Team News
Mancini took 25 players to Naples and one of the most noticeable names on the list is midfielder Felipe Melo will be available for selection as the red card he picked up against Lazio in Serie A in December will not affect him in the Coppa Italia.
Goalkeepers: 1 Handanovic, 30 Carrizo, 46 Berni;
Defenders: 5 Juan Jesus, 12 Telles, 14 Montoya, 21 Santon, 23 Ranocchia, 24 Murillo, 25 Miranda, 33 D’Ambrosio, 55 Nagatomo;
Midfielders: 7 Kondogbia, 13 Guarin, 17 Medel, 27 Gnoukouri, 77 Brozovic, 83 Melo;
Forwards: 8 Palacio, 9 Icardi, 10 Jovetic, 11 Biabiany, 22 Ljajic, 44 Perisic, 97 Manaj.
La Gazzetta reports that Juan Pablo Carrizo could be set to start in goal ahead of Inter’s player of the season so far Samir Handanovic.
In defence Davide Santon and Juan Jesus could also be set for a start as Inter are expected to rotate their line up.
In midfield Geoffrey Kondogbia and Felipe Melo also seem set to start as well as Ivan Perisic. Up top Mauro Icardi could be replaced by one of Rodrigo Palacio or Stevan Jovetic.
Napoli are red hot at the moment with Gonzalo Higuain seemingly scoring at will as is Napoli who are averaging almost a goal a game more than Inter.
I cannot see Inter winning here as I cannot see then shutting Napoli out, which means Mancini’s side would have to score at least two goals to win and that is very unlikely.
What do you think the score will be?
