It is pretty clear that Inter president Massimo Moratti is not impressed with the performance of Marco Branca. Moratti has publicly expressed doubts over the transfer strategy this season, particularly with regards to the way the Wesley Sneijder situation was handled and the lack of cover for Diego Milito.
Leonardo has been linked with a move to Inter this summer but a new name has surfaced recently, that of ex-Fiorentina transfer guru Pantaleo Corvino.
According to the Corriere Fiorentino newspaper, Corvino is the new favourite for the Inter job.
He was the director of sport at Fiorentina, but parted company with the club over the summer and has since rejected several different offers. Corvino was most famous for his work at Lecce, where he discovered the likes of Fabrizio Miccoli and Mirko Vucinic.
Branco deserves to get fired. Inter’s transfers policy the last year or so has been a mess. It is clear that Inter needed another top striker when, not if, Milito got injured. And what about all the attention giving to Lucas? Inter were looking for young, cheap players. It was pretty obvious that Lucas was not going to be cheap. Same with Paulinho.
