Guido Albers, agent of sacked Inter boss Frank de Boer has hit out at the club, stating the Dutchman ‘was the right man in the wrong place’. The former Nerazzurri boss was fired on Tuesday after just 14 games in charge, after club executives had expressed their 100% confidence in the Coach just days earlier at a shareholders meeting.
“I am sad and very surprised at the decision because the hierarchy at Inter said on Friday that their leaders had the utmost confidence in De Boer,” the agent told the Press. “And also in the long-term project that was started in August.
“He didn’t know anything about it beforehand, although yesterday it seemed strange to not see any of the management at training.
“But he had been working as if nothing had happened and was ready to do well against Southampton.
“I found such behavior a little disrespectful, but football in Italy is like this.
“Frank is a great Coach and I am convinced that will have a great career because he has a great mentality and great attitude to work.
“If he had been given time he would have obtained exceptional results because he had already done so before he arrived in August and found himself in a difficult situation.
“Under his leadership, Inter played some good matches and within weeks he learned Italian. I think he was the right person in the wrong place.”
