Mauro Icardi has been voted Serie A Player of the Month for October after his performances pushed Inter up to second place the table.
The Argentine beat Napoli midfielder Allan to the award, given out after social media votes on the Italian Players’ Association (AIC).
Icardi has found the net six times in his last four Serie A appearances. Remarkably, he has achieved that with only eight shots on target.
But don’t expect to see Icardi on the pitch against Genoa on Saturday. Inter face a crunch Champions League tie with Barcelona on Tuesday, in which a win would close to guarantee a place in the Last 16.
As a result, Tuttomercatoweb is reporting that Spalletti will rotate players on Saturday with Lautaro Martinez set to replace the Inter captain.
