According to Diario AS, Atletico Madrid will look to sign Inter striker Mauro Icardi this summer should either Antoine Griezmann or Diego Costa leave.
It is clear from comments on Sunday by both Inter CEO Beppe Marotta and manager Luciano Spalletti that Inter are counting down the days until the end of the season so they can sell their most valuable asset.
According to the Spanish report, Costa is likely to be sold this summer should a lucrative offer come in for the striker, who has struggled for form and fitness over the past 12 months, from the Chinese Super League.
Meanwhile Griezmann has made it known that he regrets not moving to Barcelona last summer and that he would welcome the opportunity to move to the Camp Nou this summer.
If Inter are going to sell Icardi, then I want them to get as much money as possible. Get as many big clubs involved and let’s get the transfer fee over €100m, money that Inter can then reinvest to buy the three or four really good players that Inter needs to so that we can begin to close this massive gap to Juventus.
