Mauro Icardi continued his remarkable form with a brace against Lazio, but assured Inter “are not the anti-Juventus. We’re on the right track.”
The striker has now scored six goals in his last four Serie A games, but above all with just seven shots on target, confirming his absolutely deadly finishing.
“I am going through a good period of form along with Inter. We’re playing well, aside from the game with Barcelona, and want to do even better,” the striker told Sky Sport Italia after a 3-0 victory.
“We are not the anti-Juventus, as we’re a few steps away to reach what they’ve done in recent years, but we are happy with what we are doing. We’re on the right track and want to continue.
“The team is improving, we are working to improve and play the ball, which we managed to do very well today. We found good spaces and the moves to score the goals, reflecting the work we’ve done in training every day.”
Inter have now won six Serie A rounds in a row, conceding one goal in their last four.
“It’s important to keep a clean sheet, as we know that we have the chances to score. When we don’t concede, we know a win is likely.”
