Inter Adds Another Sponsor

You have to give Suning credit. If Inter are to get back amongst the big clubs in Europe, they need better players, and in order to affords them, Suning needs to increase the clubs revenue.

The quickest and easiest way to do that is by signing more sponsorship deals, something that Suning have been very effective at doing.

The latest sponsor of Inter, is SWM Motors, whose car, the SWM X7 has become the Official Car of F.C. Internazionale for the Greater China area.

The black and blue car is the only Inter-themed limited edition X7 car in the world.

“This partnership is an important step for us, particularly because it sees us increase our presence in Asia,” said Michael Gandler, Inter’s chief revenue officer.

“SWM is the perfect partner for Inter as we look to expand the club’s activities in the region.”

WM was founded in Milan but is now wholly owned by a China’s Shineray Holdings. SWM Motors maintains a production and R&D facility in Milan, and has an SWM Motors factory in Chongqing-Fuling making more than 300,000 passenger vehicles and 300,000 engines annually.

The partnership between SWM Motors and F.C. Internazionale represents the latest chapter in Inters long relationship with China. Inter has always had a deep connection with the country since it became the first European club to visit China back in 1978, with the club regularly playing matches in China and visiting for pre-season tours.
