Inter have confirmed that Radja Nainggolan faces ‘weeks’ out after spraining his ankle against Milan on Sunday.
Nainggolan limped off after half an hour of Sunday’s Serie A clash at the San Siro, where Inter won 1-0 thanks to a late Mauro Icardi header.
The former Roma star appeared to sustain the injury in a heavy tackle from Lucas Biglia that saw the Milan midfielder booked, although Nainggolan also caught the Argentina international in the incident.
Nainggolan initially played on but after he was on the end of another firm challenge he was replaced by Borja Valero.
Nainggolan was taken to the hospital after the derby and now the cNerazzurri’s official website confirmed tests showed he had ‘sprained his left ankle’.
Furthermore, the midfielder’s condition ‘will be reassessed in the coming weeks’, and this morning’s Gazzetta dello Sport, Nainggolan is targeting a return for the return with Barça on November 6.
However, Marcelo Brozovic and Ivan Perisic did not need tests for their respective knocks and should be fit for the clash at Camp Nou.
