Inter Home Attendance Down 27% This Season

interfans2The FIGC has released official figures of the average attendance in Italian stadiums after 16 rounds of the 2014/15 season and it does not make good reading for Inter.

Poor home form, 3 wins in 8 games, combined with a general lack of enthusiasm for the Erick Thohir reign has resulted in a 27.5% decrease in home attendance for Inter this season.

With an average attendance of 33,502, Inter have the fourth highest attendance in Serie A, but now trail city rivals AC Milan by over 12,000 fans per game.

Overall the average attendance in Serie A for this season is 22, 051, a decrease of 6.1% compared to last season and the worst in the last five years (a decrease of almost 12% compared to the 2010/11 season).

Milan’s home game attracts the most fans (45, 978) followed by Roma (40, 467), and Juventus (38,475). While these three clubs have seen an increase, Napoli find themselves in a similar spot to Inter as their attendance has decreased by 29.3%.
