Amidst growing expectations Inter began the first stage of their preseason training on Monday at the Suning Training Center.
Luciano Spalletti did not have quite a full squad to work with, but there was a nice mixture of experience and youth on display at Appiano Gentile.
The Nerazzurri No.1 Samir Handanovic was on hand along with his backups Tommaso Berni and Daniele Padelli. Inter Primavera startlet Vladan Dekic was also included in goalkeeping drills, which will be a great learning experience for him.
Inter Milan’s big ones on defense, Kwadwo Asamoah, Stefan De Virj, Danilo D’Ambrosio and Milan Skriniar were all there along with Andrea Ranocchia and Dalbert. Primavera players Ryan Nolan and Gabriele Zappa have also been included in the camp.
Maybe the strongest part of the Inter side now with new signee Radja Nainggolan as well as Borja Valero and Roberto Gagliardini. Since Marcelo Brozovic is still involved in the World Cup while Matias Vecino’s Uruguay was just eliminated, Spalletti added youth product Xian Emmers and Maj Roric to the preseason roster.
Up front, the Nerazzurri will have Antonio Candreva, Eder, Yann Karamoh, Mauro Icardi, Lautaro Martinez and new signee Matteo Politano. Spalletti added Primavera player Facundo Colidio to the preseason roster.
Inter Milan will open its preseason match schedule at Lugano on July 14 when they will play at the Cornaredo Stadium before heading to England to meet Sheffield United on July 24.
From their Inter will participate in the International Champions Cup against Chelsea on July 28 at the Allianz Riviera in Nizza followed by Olimpique Lyon on Aug. 4 at the Via Del Mare in Lecce. The Cup competition will close out for Inter against Atletico Madrid Aug. 11 at the Wanda Metropolitano.
