Romelu Lukaku has reportedly begged Manchester United to lower his transfer fee so he can complete his transfer to Inter.
United have already rejected a bid of €54million from Inter and it is understood the Premier League side are holding out for a fee of around €80m.
However, according to media reports in Egland, Lukaku has asked United to lower their demands to around €65m in order for the deal to go through.
You have to question why United would lower the price when Lukaku’s agent Federico Pastorello is running around making these types of comments:
“Romelu Lukaku is one of the three-four best strikers in the world.
“We’ve improved our selection of forwards and reached the apex with Lukaku, who is one of the three-four best strikers in the world,” Pastorello told Il Foglio Sportivo.
The 26-year-ild Lukaku, was part of United’s preseason tour of Australia and Asia but did not play in any of their friendlies.
According to reports, Lukaku and his agent have been given ‘four days’ to agree a deal with the Nerazzurri or Juventus.
There are reports that Zhang Jindong gave the all-clear to increase the offer for Lukaku last week, but there are some within the club hierarchy who don’t see Lukaku as one of Europe’s top strikers and feel that €80m is too much to pay for the striker.
Do you agree or not with that assessment?
