New reports out of England suggest that Manchester United are still committed to buying Ivan Perisic before the end of the month, and that Suning are sticking to their demand for the full €55 million asking price for the winger.
Its a game of poker at the moment. Jose Mourinho has made Perisic one of his top summer targets, while Inter need to raise around €30 million to balance their books and comply with FFP (Financial Fair-Play) rules before June 30.
United have reportedly offered Inter €40 million plus performance-related add-ons, that could bring the price close to €50 million, but Inter so far are holding out for their asking price.
A twist in this transfer saga are reports that Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain are interested in Perisic as part of a deal for Lucas Moura.
The out-of-favor Lucas is highly rated by Luciano Spalletti and according to Inter news, Inter have reached a verbal agreement with the Brazilian Lucas, but the Nerazzurri are yet to reach an agreement with PSG.
PSG though are firm admirers of United target Perisic and, claim the report, have demanded the Croatian winger is included in a player-plus-cash swap deal to sign Lucas.
Perisic though is said to prefer a move to the Premier League and has also agreed personal terms with United. Mourinho though has been chasing Perisic for months, having visited Croatia in the international break in March. Mourinho met up with ‘transfer guru’ Predrag Mijatovic in Zagreb to discuss a deal for Perisic and the next week or so we will discover just how much Mourinho fancies the former Dortmund man.
