Strange comments from Inter boss Luciano Spalletti who said that he believes that Inter “reached the goal we had to reach” with the imminent signing of Radja Nainggolan.
As noted early, Nainggolan passed his medical early today and will be officially announced tomorrow.
“I’m satisfied,” Spalletti told reporters as he left the meeting with Nainggolan and sporting director Piero Ausilio.
“We’ve reached the goal we had to reach, but it’s better that the director [Ausilio] talks about it.”
It’s a strange term of phrase from Spalletti. Was he signaling that the goal this summer was to sign Nainggolan, or someone like him? Or was he signaling that his summer wish list is now filled with the arrivals of Radja Nainggolan, Kwadwo Asamoah, Stephen De Vrij, Lautaro Martínez and Federico Dimarco?
What do you think? Is five new signings about what you expected, or do Inter still need more depth and quality in the squad?
