Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte is eager to secure a deal for Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal.
Conte is in the process of rebuilding Inter’s squad and, as reported by Sport, wants to sign Vidal, who previously played in Italy for Juventus.
Vidal made 53 appearances in his first season at Barcelona, but there is a chance that he could leave the Nou Camp this summer.
The 32-year-old was part of the Chile side that were knocked out of the Copa America in the semi-finals.
Inter have already signed Diego Godin on a free transfer following his departure from Atletico Madrid, while they have also brought in the versatile Valentino Lozaro on loan from Hertha Berlin.
In addition, Inter have exercised their options to sign Matteo Politano permanently from Sassuolo.
Inter have been heavily linked with Romelu Lukaku, but are stalling on Manchester United’s £75million asking price for the striker.
Southampton left back Ryan Bertrand has also emerged as a surprise target for Inter.
There could also be a high-profile departure from Inter in the form of Mauro Icardi, who has been linked with Juventus.
Last season under Luciano Spalletti Inter finished in fourth place in Serie A and were knocked out of the Champions League in the group stages before being eliminated in the Europa League round of 16.
