Tottenham Hotspur’s Belgian midfielder Mousa Dembele remains Inter’s number one target in the transfer window, but with less than a month until the transfer window closes in England (August 9) time is not on Inter’s side.
The transfer has been on hold due to Belgium’s progress in the World Cup, and the struggles of dealing with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.
But their is another factor at play here and that Inter need to balance the books in terms of transfers in versus transfers out and in order to buy Dembele, they need to sell someone. And that it proving a little harder than expected.
One often talked about option was to sell Matias Vecino to Chelsea. But that is on hold as Chelsea have yet to fire Antonio Conte and replace him with Vecino.
Other options would be to sell Eder or Joao Mario, but nobody is willing to come close to meeting Inter’s valuation for either player.
