Inter have reportedly have no interest in signing Barcelona midfielder Rafinha Alcantara as an alternative to Real Madrid’s Luka Modric, who is said to be the Nerazzurri’s sole focus for a late midfield signing.
Inter are in a race against the clock to seal Modric’s signature before the Serie A transfer window closes on Friday, but the chance of Modric leaving Madrid are fading with every passing day. While Modric wants Inter and Inter wants Modric, Real Madrid will not let the Croatian leave at any cost this summer. Modric doesn’t want to force through a move as well but his agent could look to force through a move.
Several reports in recent days have suggested that if they cannot get Modric that Inter will try and pry Rafinha away from Barcelona.
However Calciomercato.com are reporting that is not the case as Inter are also put off by the €40 million price tag attached to Rafinha, who spent a successful 2017-18 season on loan at the club last season.
According to the report, Inter feel their summer transfer window has already been strong and don’t see the need to push for Rafinha a player who wouldn’t offer the same injection of quality as Modric.
