Inter Milan winger Valentino Lazaro’s agent confirms he met with Newcastle United, but “there is no agreement and he has other options.”
The Austria international is on the market just six months after arriving from Hertha Berlin at a cost of €22.5m.
Agent Max Hagmayr did not disguise negotiations with the Magpies, posting several images of his trip to St James’ Park for their Premier League match against Chelsea at the weekend.
“I was in Newcastle and we had talks, but there is no agreement yet,” Hagmayr told FCInter1908.it.
“As for the future, we’ll see what happens over the next few days. There isn’t just Newcastle, he has other options.”
According to reports, the Premier League side have offered €2m for an initial loan for the remainder of the season, with an option to buy for a further €20m should the 23-year-old make an impression in the north-east of England.
However, the German outlet Bild meanwhile is reporting that RB Leipzig haven’t given up on signing the player, and are making another attempt of persuading Lazaro to return to the Bundesliga.
