Looks like after flirting with Manchester United defender Ashley Young last week, Inter have came to their senses and decided that the England international was not the right move.
Instead Inter will sign Roma’s 26-year-old fullback Leonardo Spinazzola, with Inter forward Matteo Politano heading to Roma.
The Manchester United veteran agreed terms with Inter last week and had hoped to complete the move this month. But with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reluctant to see Young leave in January, Inter and Antonio Conte quickly turned their attention to Spinazzola.
Spinazzola has made 16 appearances for Roma this season, but the club are willing to let him go in order for Politano to replace the injured Nicolo Zaniolo.
The Italy international ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament against Juventus last weekend and is expected to miss up to nine months.
Conte, meanwhile, has been on the lookout for a new full back as he looks to keep pace with Juve at the top of Serie A.
The former Chelsea boss wanted to add the experienced Young to his squad, but Sky in Italy claim that the 34-year-old is unlikely to make the switch if Spinazzola completes his move to Milan.
