While the transfer window is officially closed, teams are busy working on their summer targets and according to reports in England and Italy, Marcelo Brozovic is on Liverpool’s radar with the Inter Milan midfielder a reported target of the Premier League leaders.
According to FCInterNews, the Premier League champions-elect Reds scouted Brozovic during Sunday’s 4-2 derby win over bitter rivals AC Milan.
Brozovic is tied to the Nerazzurri until June 2022 but has a €60m release clause in his contract that could be activated only by clubs outside of Italy.
Inter are reportedly working on a new deal with their midfielder and will offer to bump up his deal and remove the release clause, to tie him down on a new deal until 2024.
The presence of Liverpool last weekend might speed up the process and it puts pressure on the Nerazzurri to act quickly to prevent the player from moving to the Premier League on a bargain deal.
