According to Tuttosport and Telelombardia, Inter have reached an agreement with Roma for Radja Nainggolan. The cost for the Belgian international is reported to be €29m plus youth team talent Nicolò Zaniolo.
Due to FFP restrictions, the deal will be formally announced on July 1.
This a deal that has been rumored for weeks, but initially did not get a lot of attention as nobody though that Roma would sell Nainggolan to a rival.
But Nainggolan was keep to be reunited with his former boss Luciano Spalleti and that helped push the deal through.
The signing of Nainggolan should indicate the end of Inter’s pursuit of Barcelona’s Rafinho. I cannot see Inter spending $80m on two midfield players this summer.
Zaniola is not a throw-in in this deal. The star of Inter’s Scudetto-winning Primavera youth team, he scored 14 goals and had 10 assists in 34 competitive games for the Inter Primavera and was one of the names at the top of Monchi’s wish list.
What do you think of Nainggolan? Is he is the trequartista that Inter have been searching for? Or is his best position actually a little further back?
