“We’ve never had any disagreements,” Moratti said of Thohir, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport. “He is friendly, nice and optimistic. He shared his concerns with me and he explained what the situation looks like with FFP regulations. It’s a delicate matter and we must be careful.”
Moratti was asked whether he expected Thohir to invest more in the club than he has done so far.
“I did, but at the same time Inter have expense problems related to international rules. So he has to tread carefully.
“And it’s not a matter of spending a lot, but of buying the right players.
Sometimes a player that is not as strong can be more useful. You need to discuss this with the Coach, too.”
I guess expense problems is a delicate way to say that we are spending literally hundreds of euros more than we are making.
To get back on solid financial footing, Inter need several years of Champions League football. They also need to smarter with their transfers. Mancini’s insistence that Inter chase Yaya Toure is ludicrous. Toure wants over €10m a year. Those types of wages are beyond Inter today.
