Ivan Perisic’s brace against Udinese on Sunday represents a bit of a turnaround for the Croatian star. Unconvinced by former Coach Frank De Boer’s system and methods, the 27-year-old winger had several long chats with his agent about whether to stick it out at Inter, or whether he should look for a move to the Premier League.
According to our Calciomercato.com, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool were all interested in signing Perisic, but ultimately he decided to stick it out at Inter, and his season changed when de Boer was fired and Pioli was brought replaced him.
Perisic has now scored seven goals in Serie A this season and he is starting to convince fans that he can become a star if he learns to be more consistent, something that Pioli alluded too last month
“I expect a great deal from Perisic because he has massive potential.”
Teammate Joao Miranda has no doubt about Perisic’s talent saying this after Sunday’s win”
“Ivan is a great player: fast, powerful and level-headed.
I’m happy for him that he scored twice today. ”
