So much for those votes of confidence from the Inter board last week. According to multiple reports in Italy, Inter will sack Coach Frank de Boer on Tuesday and Stefano Vecchi could take charge for the Southampton game.
It now appears that last night’s loss to Sampdoria was the final straw, as Gazzetta dello Sport, calciomercato.com and Premium Sport all expect De Boer to be sacked tomorrow.
It’s likely an Italian Coach will be put in charge until the end of the season in a caretaker role, with Gazzetta naming Stefano Pioli as the favourite.
Youth team Coach Stefano Vecchi is expected to take training tomorrow, and could even be on the bench for the visit to Southampton in the Europa League.
If true, it will be another horrendous decision by Thohir and Inter. It was Thohir who decided to fire Mancini after the USA Tour this summer and it was his decision to hire de Boer. Yes de Boer has endured a nightmare start to his Nerazzurri career, losing seven of his first 14 games in charge, but give until Christmas to see if he can mold this squad into a team.
Do you think Frank de Boer should be fired?
