Luciano Spalletti said Inter must “give our absolute all” to beat city rivals Milan and build on their Champions League confidence.
The Nerazzurri have won their last six competitive games and on the return from international duty will face arch rivals Milan.
“We are in a positive moment, in good shape and playing good football,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.
“We’ve improved in terms of character and that’s a fundamental quality when playing such important games. Now we’ll see what situations emerge from the break for international duty, but overall we are satisfied.
“We’ve got to focus only on Milan and then after that we can start to think about Barcelona. The Rossoneri are a strong opponent, play good football and picked up a lot of points in the last few games.
“They signed some very strong players this summer and we’ll need to give it our absolute all.”
Spalletti confirmed Marcelo Brozovic and Sime Vrsaljko look likely to recover in time to feature in the Derby della Madonnina.
“We’ve started strong in the Champions League, but there are still four games to go and it’s open. We dived into a new situation and the fact we fought back twice to beat Tottenham and PSV Eindhoven is a sign of our self-belief and desire to remain at this level.
“We didn’t enjoy staying away from the main stage. We’ve got to fight to ensure Inter are always in the Champions League.”
